What I believe:
I am passionate about education and believe that great teachers change lives. I taught for 26 years across the whole primary age range, and I loved my job: seeing children learning, being inspired and growing in confidence.
How I can help your child:
Nothing succeeds like success; but sometimes, for all sorts of reasons, a child may not be experiencing academic success at school. Once a child has fallen behind, it can be very difficult for them to catch up, making school hard and demoralising. This is when some quality time with an experienced tutor like me, can help.
At school, teachers have a rigid curriculum and timetable to stick to. They have 30 students with different needs to deal with, and very limited time.
On the other hand, I have got time to work one to one with your child, finding out what level they are working at and designing learning activities that will help them fill any gaps they might have in their understanding and building their confidence.
I have taught children from Nursery to Year 6, including teaching classes through SATS in Year 2 and Year 6. I understand the pressures both children and their teachers might be under at school, and how hard it can be when you are struggling to keep up.
No matter what level your child is working at, I can help them improve and feel more confident in themselves and their abilities.
I am DBS checked.
